Comexi Group, Aranow Packaging Machinery and Vak Kimsa are the three new companies have joined to CEQUIP Foundation for promoting the equipment manufacturers sector. Companies based in Catalonia, they become part of the entity that emerged in 2006 with the aim of promoting the development of the sector by establishing innovation as a key competitive advantage.

CEQUIP Foundation was created by 12 Catalan companies in the sector and was established with the participation of the UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), UPM (Unió Patronal Metal·lúrgica) and supported by ACC1Ó (Center for Innovation and Business Development - Catalonia Government). The idea of the creation of CEQUIP arises from the observation of the common characteristics of companies in the sector.

One ARANOW delegation visited, during last October the Massachusetts Institute of Technologies, Harvard Business School, MGH and Novartis Institute for biomedical Research Center in Cambridge, and other research and education places.

The reason of the visit was to benchmarking in terms of collaboration between private management and public capital in Massachusetts State.

With this visit we still convinced to keep our main conception of strong relationship between the University, Research centers and private companies in a consistence long term commitment philosophy.

Very funny was the visit to the Boston Public Library where we had the opportunity to check our US Patents in the Official facsimiles edited by the United States patent and trademark Office and also the famous and prestigious Catalan vault constructed by the catalan Architect Rafael Guastavino
